Lori V. Testimonial for San Diego Personal Trainer Chris Keith Owner/Operator for 619 San Diego Personal Training 619

To explain to you what an incredible personal trainer Chris Keith is, first let me tell you a little about myself. I am a 39 year old stay at home mother of 3 young children. I have had issues with my weight my entire life. In my late twenties I reached my highest weight of over 330 lbs. I tried EVERYTHING! Fad diets, starving myself, you name it, I tried it. I even went so far as to have weight loss surgery.
After the surgery I lost a little over 100 lbs. Of course I was thinner and healthier than I was at my highest weight, but I was still over 220 lbs. I kept the weight off for a few years. Then, after my second child was born, the weight really started coming back. After the birth of my third child I was back up to 260 lbs. and starting to get a bit depressed. I started going out less and less. It was embarrassing to see people (friends and family) who had seen me and everything I went through with the weight loss surgery, only to gain it all back.
I knew I had to do something. For my children, my husband, but mostly for MYSELF, I had to make a change. I started feeling very unhealthy. I had no energy and was tired all the time. I honestly felt that if I didn’t make a change, I was going to be dead before my children even finished high school.
Enter Chris Keith. I’ve never really exercised before (nothing formal anyway). I didn’t have any idea what to look for in a personal trainer, or exercise program. I found Chris’ website and I liked it. I visited many personal trainer websites but I kept going back to Chris’. I was a bit intimidated, but I emailed Chris, set up a consultation, and gave him a try!
The consultation was an informal meeting where I filled out the necessary forms and answered Chris’ questions. He answered all of my questions and we set up my workout schedule. Two days later I had my first workout and it was hard.
Many times in the first few weeks I considered quitting. I don’t like being told what to do and all of a sudden I had this large and intimidating man telling me what to do! I fought it a little in the beginning. Then I decided to just do what Chris said. Stop fighting him and follow his instructions to the letter. Then something amazing happened; I started seeing results!
Chris doesn’t ask much. He just wants 100% commitment and 100% effort. In return he gives you the same. Chris has a very high energy personality. His workouts are intense and the passion that he puts into his work is also intense. When I make a mistake, he lets me know in no uncertain terms that I did it wrong, and not to do it again or I risk injuring myself. He also tells me when I’m doing things right. Chris is not lavish with his compliments. When you hear praise from Chris, you know you’ve done something right!
Chris motivates by being consistent in his work ethic. He consistently pushes you to do your best. In turn, you amaze yourself by doing things you never thought you could. This inspires you to come back and do it all again. To see how much farther you can push yourself. How much stronger you can get.
I could go on and on. There are a million great things I could say about Chris. What it all boils down to is this, if you are ready to make a serious commitment to yourself to get fit and healthy, no matter what your current fitness level is, Chris is the guy you want to help you with it. He’s educated, has years of experience, and can help you achieve the results you’re looking for.
I’ve lost weight before, but I have never been physically fit. Not like I am now! I’m training for my first half marathon. My current longest run is 7 miles (me, I ran 7 miles!!). I’ve done many 5k’s and have my first 10k coming up. Best of all, I enjoy exercise now; in fact, I get grumpy when I don’t exercise. Instead of sitting on my butt doing nothing, my kids see me exercising and being healthy. They love to exercise with me too! My friends tell me I’m inspiring. And I have Chris to thank for it all. Of course I did the hard work, but I can honestly say without Chris, I would have never been so successful.
I’ve been working out with Chris for 10 months now. I’ve lost about 65 lbs. and I am more fit than I’ve ever been in my life. Chris has changed my life completely. His influence extends so far beyond the gym too. I’m healthier and happier than I’ve ever been. This makes me a better wife, mother, friend, a better person in general. I’m a healthy role model for my children. Even my husband has been inspired to eat healthy (now if I could just get him in the gym!).
Of all the positive things I’ve just said about Chris, the absolute BEST thing about him is that he never once made me feel like a ridiculous fat girl who had no business being in the gym. (Even when, at times, I felt that way about myself!) He kept my workouts challenging, but always within my capability. Thank you seems so inadequate for all you’ve done for me, but it’s all I’ve got. So, THANK YOU Chris! You are an amazing man.
