619 San Diego Personal Training 619 is full of great athletes, but none like Cyndy Alarcon! Cyndy has been a dedicated member for the past couple years and watching her grow into the athlete she is today has been inspiring. Cyndy is the heart and soul of the 4 p.m. Class! Her motivation and energy is beyond compare. There has not been a month within the past year where her name was not on the PR board and that is a testament to her commitment to become the best athlete she can be. She always cheers on her fellow teammates and goes out of her way to help anyone she can.

Cyndy has grown a lot within 619 San Diego Personal Training and recently competed in her first competition in December, along with teammate Katie Perry. Having her husband, son, and many 619 San Diego Personal Training 619 members there to support and cheer them on was extraordinary to her and the adrenaline was incredible. Cyndy’s favorite event was the Clean & Jerk in which she PR’d! She hopes to build a team and participate in a competition in May or go solo in the Stars & Bars competition in July.

Cyndy is a San Diego native and never considered herself to be an athletic person until now. Outside of killing it in the gym, she loves to hike, dance and shop. Her musical stylings can often be heard in the gym as she is one of the very few members who are allowed to pick the music and that is a big deal! We cannot wait to see Cyndy’s growth this year and all the gains she will make.

How did you get involved in 619 San Diego Personal Training?

I saw a deal on living social, I had always been interested and thought it would be a good way to see if it was a good fit for me. Obviously it was!

What was your first WOD/experience?

I can’t remember my first WOD at all, however I can remember my first day at 619 CK put me through a little training session, we did wall balls, tire jumps, kettle bell swings and some running. I was dying and was sore for like a week! But I was hooked!

How do you balance 619 San Diego Personal Training with life?

It’s funny because I feel like 619 San Diego Personal Training is what balances my life. Without it, I would be a very stressed out mama! I am pretty much devoted to the 4 p.m. class. I’ve been going at this time since I started. It’s the perfect time for me because I get off at 3:00 p.m. and I have to pick up my baby by 6:00 p.m. I love my 4 p.m. crew! I try to schedule almost everything around this time. Everyone that knows me knows that between 4-5:00 p.m. I am at 619.

What is your biggest accomplishment?

It’s a tie between doing an unassisted pull-up and participating in a competition. Completing a competition was a goal of mine for 2014 and I finally did it in Dec. with Katie Perry. We ended up in 4th place out of 28 teams, so I thought we did pretty well!

What is your favorite/least favorite WOD/movement?

This is also a tie, Power Clean and Deadlift are my favorite. My least favorite is anything gymnastic related as I’m just not good at any of those movements, but something I need to work on for sure.

Which is your favorite Nasty Girl? (Fran, Cindy, etc.)

Cindy of course ☺

What do you do for a profession ?

I am an Electrical Planner for a Shipyard

What are your hobbies outside of 619 San Diego Personal Training?

Spending time with my two sons and my husband and shopping; my 2nd favorite workout.

A fun fact…. Or two….

I have a 16 year old son and I can make three loops with my tongue (I’ll show you if you ask!)

Lifestyle (Paleo, Vegan, Don’t Have One…):

I don’t really have one. I try to eat clean most of the time, but I constantly battle between wanting to look good naked and “treat yo self”, as I’m sure a lot of us do!
